The distribution of PAGB medals and certificates for the EAPU DPI Salon will take place on Tuesday 04 June 2013 in the Clarion Hotel, Carrickfergus at 7.30pm. 

The Exhibition has been selected and will be shown for the first time at the Awards Night.

Every Author with an image selected will receive an emailed invitation. 

The awards for the Interclub competition will also be presented.

Can members that have won awards please make the effort to attend.

Antrim Camera Club has been invited once again to put on an Exhibition this year. As previous years the subject will be Wildlife mainly Birds, Insects, Flora and Fauna, im sure there will also be space for some of your favourite images that do not fit the mentioned category. 

Images on 20X16 inch mounts always look very good for these events and really show of your work, if the smaller 16X12 is your thing thats fine and more than welcome. 

We will also have a slideshow running and require images for this also, dont worry about resizing etc we will resize these to get the best output for the display being used.

Bo is taking submissions for the PRINTS ONLY. Please contact him direct or get in touch using the contact form on the site and the details will be passed on.

Gareth will be dealing with the DPI'S ONLY to take the load of Bo, please do not resize the images, they will be optimised for viewing at 1080p so dont use the nipa size as the are not the same. Contact Gareth using the clubs contact form.

Student and keen photographer Derek Schoffstall, from America, is taking a stand against Adobe's decision to say goodbye to 'CS' by starting a petition that's, so far, received over 1000 signatures.

At their Creativity Conference this week, Adobe announced that they have 'no plans for future releases of Creative Suite or other CS products.' Instead, the software creator will be focusing on the development of its Creative Cloud (CC) - a subscription service through which all of Adobe's 'tools' will be available from June.

On the petition, Derek says: "You should support this petition because Adobe is making their already expensive products even more expensive in the long run. Adobe is robbing small business, freelancers, and the average consumer. They do not seem to understand that every company is a not multi-national, multi-billion dollar corporation that has an infinite amount of resources."

The petition states that people should 'have a choice' between either CC or CS and that the mandatory Creative Cloud subscription should be 'eliminated'.

"In the end it comes down to this: all of Adobe's consumers will not be able to make such a large payment every month on the CC subscription model," says Derek on the petition. "In the short term, the subscription model looks to be okay, but over time the only entity that is benefiting from this is Adobe. The (no longer) current model: paying a one time fee for infinite access is a much better business model and is better for the consumer."

Stop Legalised Theft of Copyrighted Works

A new legislation that has been rushed through parliament with no thought has now reached royal assent. This legislation means that photographers and illustrators alike will see their artworks legally taken and used for another's own gain.

Unless your works are registered or plastered with a watermark, anyone can use your copyrighted work for their own commercial and personal gains provided they have made a small effort to search for the original owner. If no owner can be found, they are free to do with it whatever they want.

There is nothing to stop people simply removing data embedded in digital files and pleading ignorance to the original author of the work.

The details have not yet been finalised, meaning there is little time left to put huge pressure on our government. Write to your MP and demand their objection.

Sign this petition now and share it with all you know to demand the UK Government make a U-turn and abort this legalised theft of digital artworks.

Hi folks as you can see I have added a New Awards Page to the site. I will be listing all awarded images, from NIPA, EAPU, Roy Finlay, and the clubs internal rounds ie PDI/Prints Of The Year etc. 

For this to work can members please have these forwarded to me, use the contact page and I will get back to you asap.

The images will be made into a slideshow to reduce the risk of images being stolen and will also be at screen resolution so they are of no use to anyone for printing etc.

Please make sure all images sent include the following: Title, Award, Name, Round.

Do not resize them, Do not watermark them, Do not add frames. (saves me alot of time making them all look nice in the slideshow).
