Message from CPA Camera Club.
Thanks for your help and support last year for the Will McCrum Memorial Competition for Portraiture. Without your enthusiasm and the amazing entries, the competition would never have been the success it was.
I'm delighted to let you know that we are now accepting entries for the third year of this prestigious competition, open to all members of a NIPA affiliated club.
This is a celebration of the passion Will had for portraiture and in particular large prints. With that in mind, we hope you'll consider submitting an entry this year and passing on details of the competition to other photographers who might be interested.
The Will McCrum Portraiture competition is one of the very few large print competitions in Northern Ireland. We're sure you'll agree that seeing these fantastic images printed and mounted from 50cm and larger is a stunning way to display photographs and makes for an amazing body of work.
Information for this years competition is available here:

Hi folks just to remind everyone this week is going to be a still life studio session, for this to work we need members to bring in some interesting objects, flowers, fruit, antiques, anything really you would like to photograph.
Also please bring in Round Two Entries, subject (Open)
This week, Wednesday 8th October, is photo critique. Please bring some images along, on usb stick or SD card. (jpeg please, don't worry about resizing)
Images from the photo walk evening ,Tollymore trip, round 1 entries that people want critique on or even round 2 entries that you would like critique or suggestions to improve before submitting.
Or any image you like, remember if no one brings anything, the evening will be lost.
This is a great opportunity to get fellow photographers experience, knowledge and opinion on your images.
That said the idea is its all anonymous so nobody gets offended and any round 2 images the author remains unknown.

For members that are interested in learning photoshop.
I think personally trying to cover photoshop at club meetings is a difficult task, (everyone is at different levels) it is much easier to have hands on ie a video playing while you work at your images, this way you can stop and start as required, rather than information overload at the club without you computer.
On the subject of online videos take a look on adobes site, look for the video you need help with and see how it goes.
The internet holds a massive amount of info on photo editing no matter what software you use, and skill level you will find with a little searching all the answers required and in the comfort of your own home in front of your computer.
Please feel free to post your thoughts in the comments section of this post..
