Antrim Camera Club Constitution
The title of the organisation shall be Antrim Camera Club which may be shortened to ACC on stationery, letters and social media.
Aims
1. To further the value and understanding of photography in the local community.
2. To allow an individual to better themselves by being in a positive environment.
3. To further social links and increase the sense of community spirit.
4. To encourage co-operation between all members at all levels.
5. To increase the status of the club in the community, the Northern Ireland Photographic Alliance and East Antrim Photographic Union.
6. To fulfill the full potential of photography as an art form and as a means of recording images, impressions and information.
7. To promote technical excellence in the various disciplines of photography.
8. To create an awareness of the work of other photographers both in the local community and in the rest of the world.
9. To engender creativity. These aims shall hopefully be met through a programme of lectures, trips, demonstrations, practical activities, competitions and discussions for all members.
Membership
Membership of the Antrim Camera Club shall be open to any person interested in the aims of the club as outlined above, subject to the approval of the clubs committee. Membership entitles the member to attend any of the Club activities and use of any Club equipment intended for the general Club members. Antrim Camera Club will oversee a robust Child Protection Policy in order to protect any minor who might wish to take up club membership.
Committee
The affairs of Antrim Camera Club shall be managed by a Committee consisting of the following Officers:

The Committee members are elected at the Annual General Meeting. Committee members serve for the year between A.G.M. meetings. Six members of the committee shall constitute a quorum in order to run Antrim Camera Club. The committee shall have the power to co-opt members to fill vacant places on the committee between Annual General Meetings and if necessary increase the number of ordinary members on the committee by two.
Finance
The financial year for the club shall begin and finish one week before the Annual General Meeting the date of which is usually the first week of May each year. Responsibility for the financial affairs of Antrim Camera Club is taken by the committee. This covers all membership funds, grants, donations, sponsorship and spending of these in order to promote the clubs’ ability to fulfill its aims.
Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting shall normally be held in May. The purposes for holding such a meeting are as stated below;
To elect a new committee for the following year
To receive a full accounting for the financial affairs of Antrim Camera Club during the year
To appoint an Auditor for the following year.
All members shall receive notice of the meeting at least 14 days before it takes place. Any notices of motion intended for the Annual General Meeting shall be given in writing to the secretary not later than the 31st of March. These notices shall then be circulated to all attending the meeting for consideration.
Extraordinary General Meeting
An extraordinary general meeting may be called at any time by the membership. Fourteen days notice will be given before the actual meeting takes place. Details of the business to be discussed shall be circulated in writing to all members by the secretary.
Interpretation Of The Rules
Interpretation of the rules shall be as directed by the Committee.
Alterations To Constitution And Rules
The committee has the power to add to the rules for the purpose of covering any unforeseen matter arising which has not been accommodated for herein. This may take place at any time but will be noted and brought up at the Annual General Meeting. Changes to existing rules and the constitution, in part or in whole, shall be submitted in writing as a notice of motion to be considered at an Annual General Meeting or an Extraordinary General Meeting. Changes may be passed by a majority vote of those present. All changes shall remain in place unless they are, in turn, amended by the club in an Annual General Meeting or an Extraordinary General Meeting.
Liquidation Of The Club
Any money left over after all debts of the club have been settled up shall be forwarded to the outgoing committee, who shall take responsibility for allocating the money to whatever cause they deem most worthy, should the club have to be dissolved and declared no longer in existence.
